Run HVACR motors based on process demands with ABB ACH180
March 10, 2024 By Anthony Capkun
March 26, 2024 – ABB’s ACH180 microdrive is designed to allow operators to run high-efficiency motors based on HVACR process demands rather than at full speed.
The drive is suitable for a range of applications, including air handlers, fan arrays, heat pumps, compressors, and pumps. It includes Hand/Off/Auto controls, firefighter override for smoke control, and four start interlocks for remote troubleshooting (including high static, smoke, freeze stat, and fire stat).
The ACH180 supports the control of various motor types, including permanent magnet-assisted synchronous reluctance motors, permanent magnet motors, and conventional induction motors. Onboard communication protocols, including BACnet MS/TP and Modbus RTU, offer compatibility with a variety of building automation systems or OEM controllers.
